E. — Determination of the amount of energy released at the rail ends during flash-butt welding based on solving the inverse heat conduction problem</strong><br /><br />As a result of the conducted numerical studies of the kinematics of temperature fields during rail welding, two finite element problems were solved to determine the energy used for the formation of a welded joint at the initial stage of end flashing: 1) the direct heat conduction problem for uniform heating of the rail end; 2) the inverse heat conduction problem with a bevel at the rail end. E. — Features of the energy characteristics of the light technological medium during laser and laser-arc processing of metals with fiber lasers</strong><br /><br />The article presents the features of the energy characteristics of the light medium of laser and hybrid laser-arc technological welding. It is shown that during laser processing of various metallic materials, different spectra of the light medium arise — ultraviolet, infrared, and visible radiation. The measurement results showed that the parameters of ultraviolet and infrared radiation during laser welding of aluminum alloys are higher than during welding of steel specimens. In hybrid laser-arc welding, high values of ultraviolet and infrared radiation prevail, while laser irradiance is practically absent. The paper presents the relationship between beam deflection and the properties of the resulting welded joints.
