This paper proposes a calculation method for determining zones with a changed structure. The microstructure of the surface of a skin-pass mill roll made of 9Kh2MF roll steel is investigated, the printability of which forms a texture on the surface of the cold-rolled strip.

The article presents the results of work on providing ROSATOM with technologies for manufacturing specialized test and calibration specimens that are necessary for conducting certification tests of systems, methods, and personnel of non-destructive testing by ultrasonic, visual, television, and eddy current methods, as well as for setting up and checking system equipment before testing the base metal, welded joints, and cladded surfaces of equipment and pipelines. The performance of this work demonstrated and ensured the technological sovereignty of ROSATOM in global production.

The paper notes the informational and physical imperfection of standard methods for determining the fatigue strength of structural materials. A model is proposed that links the local fatigue damage of the surface layer material into a single functional complex depending on the nature of the physical and energy impact on it. Prospects for the development of the research results are outlined.
