The paper presents data on the wear resistance of chromium-manganese and manganese deposited metal containing in its structure metastable austenite undergoing dynamic deformation martensitic transformation (self-quenching effect under loading), which provides self-protection against failure. The feasibility of combining surfacing with subsequent heat treatment, chemical-heat treatment, and deformation treatment in a number of cases is shown. Keywords: powder surfacing materials, deposited metal, martensite, metastable austenite, dynamic deformation martensitic transformation, self-quenching effect, wear resistance, carbides, carbonitrides
