Semykin V. N., Protsenko V. N., Besko A. V., Sviridov D. A., Kosarev G. G. — Determination of the field of principal stress trajectories in a large-sized welded structure
The article shows the sequence of identifying the trajectories of principal stresses (isostats) in a large-sized welded structure, briefly characterizes the types of principal stress trajectories and the possibilities of controlling their fields. A methodology for identifying trajectories based on the physical non-destructive magnetoelastic method is presented.

Ishkinyaev E. D., Petrovsky V. N., Grezev N. V., Khriptovich E. V., Shiganov I. N. — Improving the operational properties of metal surfaces using high-power fiber lasers
The paper shows the possibilities of surface hardening of metal products by laser quenching using high-power fiber lasers and various optical systems. The results of quenching an area up to 200 mm wide to a depth of up to 2 mm in a single-pass mode due to controlled heating and cooling of a broadband thermal front formed by a static rectangular radiation spot and an oscillating laser beam with a source power of up to 10 kW are presented. Examples of the practical use of laser broadband heat treatment on real industrial products are given.

Samotugin S. S., Butsukin V. V., Kazak A. G., Reutsky N. M., Sheksheev M. A. — Selection of the composition of the deposited layer in the combined technology of restoration and hardening of soil-cultivating tools
To improve the performance of soil-cultivating tools, a new combined technology of surfacing and plasma surface hardening has been developed. Based on studies of the structure, hardness, abrasive wear resistance, and dynamic crack resistance, the use of low- and medium-carbon steels, as well as high-chromium cast iron, as a deposited coating is recommended.
