Efimenko L. A., Elagina O. Yu., Kapustin О. Е. — Substantiation of dependence for the carbon equivalent determination of low-carbon newgeneration tube steels

The existing dependencies analyzes for the carbon equivalent determination of traditional pipe steels was carried out. The necessity of clarification the manganese equivalence coefficients and accounting the complex effect of such carbide-forming elements as titanium, niobium, vanadium, and zirconium, depending on the carbon equivalent, is justified taking into account the alloying features of high-strength new-generation tube steels.

Varukha E. N. — Calculation of the droplets size that tear off the electrode during welding in shielding gases

Based on consideration of an idealized model of the drop let formation and transfer when welding in shielding gases, the dependence of the drop let size just before and after separation from the electrode, and of the frequency of droplets transfer for such characteristics of the welding process as the electrode diameter, it's feed speed, and segment sizes of the molten metal remaining on the tip of the electrode after the separation of the droplet, is determined.
Revealed analytical expressions give a possibility to calculate the droplets size or their transfer frequency to the optimum conditions for the welding process with controlled short circuits that ensures the maximum possible welding stability and the quality of the weld.

Sysoev Yu. S., Krivin V. V., Tolstov V. A. — Modeling of electrode melting in the development of computer 3D-simulators for teaching hand arc welding

The article describes the investigation results of distribution of time intervals between shortcuts while node molds during welding. The results are analytical distributions of random numbers as mixture of exponential and Rayleigh distributions. The method of analytical approximation of this distribution is described. It can be used to model node molding in welding training systems for flow of commands to control imitator of variable velocity of molding.

Yavdoshchin I. P., Stepanyuk S. N., Gubenya I. P. — The solubility research of a welding aerosols solid component

The influence research of the slag basicity formed during welding with electrodes with a rutile coating comprising the alkali metal compounds on the solubility of the solid component of the welding aerosol in simulators of the biological medium was carried out.
It was found that an increase in basicity, as well as an increase in the content of alkaline compounds, promotes the dissolution process. The research results demonstrated that the most intensive dissolution occurs in simulators of gastric juice, while in the imitator of the respiratory system the dissolution rate is lower.

Barabanova О. А., Polunin V. A., Salmin P. A. — Diffusion welding: possible defects of welded joints, the causes of their occurrence and methods of control

The performance of welded structures is determined by the quality of welded joints.
The defects, the identification of which is the main task of quality control, influence the most negative effect on the quality of the welded structure. Identification and elimination of defects allow improving the welding regime, which in turn leads to an improvement in the quality of welded joints and, as a result, to an increase in the productivity of the welding process. When choosing methods and means for controlling welded joint made by diffusion welding, it is necessary to have a clear idea of the nature of the defects and the causes of their appearance. Classification of defects formed during diffusion welding, the causes of their occurrence and methods of control are presented in this article.
Key words: welded joint, welded defects, quality control, diffusion welding, classification of defects
