Grigor’yants A. G. – Scientific school at the "Laser technologies in machine-building" department of the Bauman MSTU

Essential stages of the the "Laser technologies in machine-building" department development in Bauman MSTU are covered. Over the 30 years passed since the establishment of the department a great volume of scientific research and educative methodological work has been done, which came to be the base of the modern scientific and educational complex. During the recent years a considerable attention has been paid to development and upgrading scientific basis for carrying out research work meeting high modern standards. This is the basis of highly skilled engineers, holder of a master's degree, candidates and doctors of technical sciences, who develop the “Russian method” of personnel training, the method brought about in the university many years ago.

Results of metal powders selective laser sintering technology application to manufacture products with axial symmetry are covered. Pilot production laser jet created on the base of high-power industrial CO2-laser and manipulator five-axis bench is described. Metallographic analysis of the obtained products verified generation of composite structures with high service properties.

Novichenko D. Yu., Grigor’yants A. G., Smurov I. Yu. – Fabrication of composite materials with metal matrix by direct laser deposition

Application of powder materials on the base of steel and titanium carbide is considered. A correlation analysis-based laser deposition process chart for rollers and lays with required data is formed. Conditions for obtaining composite materials of different patterns with titanium carbide particles both retained in matrix and dissolved, as well as with fine-dispersed strengthening particles separation are determined.

Grigor’yants A. G., Misyurov A. I., Tretyakov R. S. – Analysis of the coaxial laser surface coating condition influence on the bead formation

It is established that one can efficiently control deposited bead dimensions, form factor and dispersion coefficient by changing conditions of coaxial laser surfacing. Increase of the bead dimensions depends on the laser altering power, at the same time starting from certain values a stabilization of form factor and dispersion coefficient take place.

Misyurov A. I. – Restoration of the components from nickel-based high-temperature alloys by laser pulse-periodic radiation

Issues of structure formation at laser repair surfacing of the components from nickel-based high-temperature alloys are considered. It is shown that usage of the pulse-periodic radiation allows for significant reduction of the heat-affected area spread. High cooling rate results in primary structure refining of the molten area and offer the challenge for efficient control of its composition.

Bogdanov A. V. – Manufacturing capability assessment features of industrial lasers

Optimal conditions assessment features of the laser systems’ operation to conduct different processes of material working are covered. Functional dependencies of material processing depth, width and speed on average power, laser beam intensity divergence angle, dot size on the resonator output window and the properties of the focusing optical system are plotted. A multifactor mathematical model is developed, which may serve as a working algorithm of the control and operation system of the laser industrial installation.

Grigor’yants A. G., Grezev A. N., Misyurov A. I., Grezev N. V. – Prospect of heavy gage welding practices on the base of laser beams composition

Issues of the laser welding effectiveness increase for the heavy gage products from hardened steel are covered. Two or more laser beams partnering enables productivity improvement of the process, lowering of requirements for assembling accuracy of the welded workpieces, as well as cooling rate control in the temperature range of phase and structural transformations. At the same time higher level of mechanical strength is achieved as compared to single-beam and arc welding.

Advantages and disadvantages characteristic of the photopolymeric compositions on the base of multipurpose methacrylic esters are considered with regard to polymeric articles production by the laser stereolithography method.

Shiganov I. N., Melnikov D. M. – Determination of diesel fuel low-temperature properties by rapid analysis of hydrocarbon oils

A rapid analysis technique of determining freezing and cloudiness temperatures for summer and winter diesel fuel is described. Chemical structure estimation procedure of the diesel fuel wax fraction is suggested. It is based on the principle of scanning colorimetry of specular reflection.

A hardware-software complex for testing physicochemical (working) properties of fuel oil and engine oil is described. It combines two approaches to optical analysis of liquid and solid, turbid, semitransparent and dark medium: turbidimetry at 18...20 °C and temperature scanning photo colorimetry.
