Shchetinin S. V. — Electromagnetic nature of undercutting

The electromagnetic nature of the undercuts formation is established. With welding speed increasing, cooling of active spots intensifies, heat input to the side edges of the bath concentrates and reduces, whose electrical resistance decreases. As a result, take place increase of the amount of current flowing through the side edges of the bath, as well as increase of the field induction and the magnetic pressure, under which the liquid metal flows down from the edges of the bath, which leads to the formation of undercuts.
A method has been developed for high-speed one-way welding with a composite electrode that provides a heat input to the side edges of the bath and electrical resistance increase, a current, the electromagnetic force and magnetic pressure, directed downward in the regions of the bath side edges decrease, the qualitative formation of seams without undercuts, the reverse roller on the flux cushion, the grinding of the microstructure and an increase in the toughness of welded joints.

Lastovirya V. N., Novokreshchenov V. V., Rodyakina R. V. — A method for controlling the parameters of a power density normal distribution in a heating spot, implemented on the basis of a serial energetic block for electron-beam welding

A method for stabilizing the shape of power density distribution due to correction of the distribution parameters along the channel of cathode heating current and the channel of potential of control electrode is proposed. The expressions, in accordance with which this correction is carried out, are obtained.

Researches of destruction of the welded foundry nickel alloys which are caused by generally structural features which are morphologically connected with a dendritny likvation which forms structure and is responsible for destruction are presented. It is established what the main type of destruction of the studied alloys is mezhzerenny and mezhdendritny both fragile, and viscous character.

Skoblo T. S., Sidashenko A. I., Saychuk A. V., Belkin E. L. — Effective technology for the restoration of body parts from gray cast iron by defects rewelding

As a result of analysis is established that to eliminate defects in steel cast parts widely use welding methods, but it is very difficult to solve this problem for cast iron parts. To solve this problem, aimed at reducing the heat input during welding, comparative studies of various methods for introducing a modifying charge (secondary raw materials from the ammunition utilization) containing nano- and dispersed diamonds, graphite, copper and iron oxides, were carried out.
It was found that the best results were obtained at a dosed introduction of the modifier. Modifier is batching introduced into a liquid bath by coating the electrode.
The use of a slip coating with subsequent melting does not provide the required quality of recovery due to the formation of an inhomogeneous structure of the reduced zone, the settling of the additive at the interface.
To study the features of the structure formation, a new optico-mathematical methodical approach is used based on the description of electron-microscopic images of the phase composition, the relationships between phases in the zones of defect welding and thermal influence, and detection of the transition zone character.

Volkov S. S., Konovalov A. V., Vybornov A. P., Golov R. S. — Influence of the ultrasonic welding parameters on the strength of polymer materials welded joints

The technology of ultrasonic welding of plastics was developed. It is shown that the mode parameters that determine the performance of the welding process are the fluctuations amplitude, welding pressure, frequency, welding time and the size of the gap between the working surface of the waveguide and the pillar.
The proposed method allows to accurately determine the settings for the ultrasonic welding of plastics corresponding to the maximum tensile stress of welded joints.
