Effect of the cutting process data on the copper physical-mechanical properties at turning is studied, specifically that of materials resistance to plastic shear and cutting. Dependencies are obtained allowing for assigning cutting process parameters, which ensure maximum performance.

Stability conditions of the critical fluid dynamics parameters of the lubricating layers are given. It is established that for improving a shaft multisupporting assembly it is necessary to apply precision technology, compensating machining errors by control modes, adjustment and individual assembly methods.

Kapoustin O. Ye., Moguilner L. Yu., Siomin Ye. Ye. — Study of the strain-and-stressed state in the zone of dents on the walls of vertical steel tanks

A strain-and-stressed state of the vertical steel tank wall with form defect is studied by the finite elements method. Effect of the dent depth on the strain-and-stressed state change of the tank wall and origination of the local stability loss are shown.

Product quality meets the requirements of the International standards. The new practice of obtaining fastening components is protected by patents of the USA, France and England.

Kladnitskiy I. G. — Arched equimeasure

Up-to-date machinery, converting rotary motion into reciprocating one, has vital disadvantage: translational motion, both straight-run and return, is irregular. It is intolerable, for example, to the operation of a machine, effecting electrode oscillation at automatic-arc welding and facing. A description, geometric calculation and kinematic properties of the smooth curved line, named “arched equimeasure”, eliminating the above demerits, are given.

Verzhansky A.P., Dubinin P.I. - Stone fracture mechanism by a single diamond grain at circular grinding

Cyclic failure behavior comprising four phases, the sequence of which depends on the boundary condition of the grains’ action on the stone and on the grinding scheme, is considered. Dependence of the diamond grains’ traverse speed along the surface of the work material on the optimal thickness of the layer destructible by a single diamond grain is obtained.
