Key words: laser hardening, wear resistance, cylindrical surfaces

Guerasimenko A. A., Andryuschenko T. A. — Microbial corrosion prevention of copper in sea and seaside media

Research results of copper and its alloys microbial corrosion features in sea atmosphere are covered. It is established that microorganisms (fungi and bacteria) may intensify corrosion extension at the initial stage, worsening product external view (decorative properties), but not resulting in considerable damage of metal. This phenomenon is caused by the origin of toxic for microbe oxides and salts on the copper surface.
