Latypova E. Yu., Tsumarev Yu. A., Tsumarev E. N. — Analysis of the stress state of one-sided T-joints

An analysis of the stress state of a one-sided T-joint is carried out. It is established, that such joint should not have a protruding part at the welding joint connecting the wall with the belt, in order to ensure maximum bearing capacity. A design of a double-seam T-joint with a compound belt, which allows welding with good access to the seam tip at small angles of the scarfed edge, is proposed. The condition, in which this T-joint provides a metal deposit volume smaller than a standard T6 joint, is adduced.

Chularis А. А., Rsaev R. А., Syndetov М. Kh. — Friction stir welding of aluminum and copper alloys

Sheet blanks from copper (M1) and aluminum alloys (AD1, AD32) with a thickness of 3 mm are joined in butt joints and overlap, butt joints — overlap joints by friction stir welding (FSW). The microstructure, mechanical properties and phase components of the welded joints obtained by the FSW are studied by using various methods of metal physics analysis, including X-ray diffraction, mechanical tensile and bending tests, etc. The test results showed that high quality of the welded joint can be achieved when tool rotation is 900 min–1 and the welding speed is 25 mm/min when the angle of tool inclination angle is 3°. The maximum value of the tensile strength is about 66 MPa. Copper and aluminum alloys are formed due to solid-phase mixing in the superplastic state (SPS), forming a characteristic shear-strip-layered structure with alternating layers in zone of weld seam cores (WSC). A mixed structure with characteristic fragments of Cu and Al is formed on the aluminum side on the side of the WSC. New intermetallic phases were not dedectived in the WSC center.

Starostin N. P., Vasileva М. А., Andreev B. I. — Influence of ambient air temperature on temperature field dynamics when welding the saddle pipe bend to a polyethylene pipe

The thermal process of welding the saddle pipe band to a polyethylene pipe taking into account the heat of the phase transition is considered. The corresponding three-dimensional non-linear equation of the heat conduction in a complex domain is solved by the finite-element method through the use of the free-access program Dolfin/FEniCS. The technological operations necessary for welding the saddle pipe band at atmospheric temperatures below the standard one are determined based on the study of the dynamics of the temperature field when welding the saddle pipe band to the polyethylene pipe at various ambient temperatures.

Matyushkin B. A., Denisov V. I., Tolkachev А. А. — Restoration of the cylinder liners inner surface for agricultural machinery diesel engines by the arc metallization method

In the present article the questions devoted to the essence of the process of electric arc metallization are considered. The technique for carrying out tests on adhesion is stated. The results of studies of adhesion properties of coatings obtained on the inner surface of the sleeve by arc metallization are presented and analyzed. Recommendations on the wire used in the restoration of cylinder liners of motor-tractor engines are given.

Peshkov V. V., Bulkov A. B., Korchagin I. B. — Diffusion welding of titanium by using pressure at the initial stage

As an example of alloy OT4 it is shown, that at diffusion welding of titanium alloys with the original globular (equiaxed fine-grained) microstructure, the accumulated strain value of the welded blanks can be reduced (more than 2 times) if the welding process is performed in the temperature range of polymorphic transformation (∼950 ° С). In such a case, use the welding pressure only at the first stage to form a physical contact with an area of at least 50 % of the nominal, and then produce an isothermal annealing without pressure, the duration of which is temperature dependent. When using a temperature higher than the end of polymorphic transformation (∼1000 °C), the duration of annealing is reduced by almost 10 times compared with annealing at 950 °C.

Igolkin A. I., Zelenin Yu. V. — Diffusion welding of large-sized bimetallic parts, followed by thermal hardening

The possibility of using diffusion welding technology to create large-size bimetallic parts is shown on the example of manufacturing flat bearings of rolling stands. The developed technology provides for the use of a powerful hydraulic press to compress a sealed container with billets, their subsequent mechanical and thermal treatment. The result is a flat bimetallic part with a wear-resistant working layer of increased corrosion resistance.
