SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL SECTION

Shakhmatov D. M. — Risk estimation of brittle fracture in dissimilar joints

The recommendations were provided for structural and technological design of diverse compounds in the form of optimal selection of the joint angles, depending on the ratio of the shear modulus and Poisson’s ratio, ensuring the absence of stress concentration in dangerous corner points. The assessment of brittie strength of diverse compounds with high siress concentration in the corner points based on the criteria of fracture mechanics was proposed.
Key words: deverse compounds, ratio of the shear modulus, Poisson’s ratio, stress

Zaytchenko Yu. A., Mamykina A. Yu., Ferapontov A. N. — Application of induction surfacing technology to increase components’ service life of the rolling stock

Wear reduction of the operated hardware components is one of the main industrial tasks. Application of the method described in the article began in the 1980th in rail transportation where the issue of wear was particularly burning. After the method has been tested and implemented they succeed in overhaul life increase of one assembly (e.g. an automatic coupler) from 2 months to 3 years and more. And that’s not a limit. Having appreciated advantages of the method, leaders of the RF Department of Transport introduced this method at carrying out scheduled types of carriage repair in depot and works aimed at increasing overhaul life of passenger equipment.

Gnyusov S. F., Durakov V. G. — Influence of titanium and tungsten carbides on structure formation and properties of composition coatings. Part 2: Structure-phase composition of the coatings steel Ð6Ì5—TiC

Results of structure-phase composition formation features of the composition coatings steel Ð6Ì5—TiÑ depending on titanium carbide content are covered. It is established that quantity of the retained austenite in the hardened layer, when 5 % of titanium carbide has been already introduced, does not exceed 5 % of the matrix total volume. Reduction of titanium carbide particles’ average sizes and of volume fractions takes place at structure analysis from the top to the lower part of the surfacing.

Bulkov A. K., Peshkov V. V., Petrenko V. R., Balbekov D. N., Stryguin A. I. — Influence of process-dependent parameters on the diffusion welding of titanium

Investigation results of the influence of the conditions characteristic and of welded work-pieces microstructure on the advancement of welding process and on diffused joint quality for the titanium samples from the alloy BT14 are described. It is established that joining formation is controlled by contact surfaces activation and by the progress of the volume interaction stage or by development of the physical contact depending on combination of work-pieces’ microstructure and welding temperature.
Key words: diffusion welding, titanium alloys, physical contact, relative strength, characteristic of welding conditions

Frolov V. A., Konkevich V. Yu., Predko P. Yu., Belotserkovets V. V. — Friction stir welding of the heat-treatable alloy Â95 of the Al—Zn—Mg—Cu system

Structure, tensile and corrosion properties of the Friction Stir Welded joints of the Al—Zn—Mg—Cu System B95 type alloy have been investigated. In spite of the B95 type alloy is "unweldable" alloy, FSW process provides high quality and high tensile strength of the welded joints. Ageing after welding provides improvement of the SCC resistance. Result from weld nugget investigation authors made conclusion that formation of the ultrafine equiaxial grains is result of secondary dynamic polygonization rather than dynamic recrystallization.

Gavrilov S. N., Khitsov O. V., Dmitriyev V. B., Popravka D. L., Lozovoy V. G., Dzyuba V. M. — Metal covered wire for mechanized and automatic welding in shielding gases of low-carbon and low-alloyed steels

Advantages of the metal covered wires as compared to solid wire or the powder ones are established, as well as utility of their application in antiseismic construction, shipbuilding, bridge engineering, motor industry, at high-pressure vessel production, surfacing, et al.
Key words: metal covered wire, mechanized welding, automatic welding, welding materials

Vasilyev A. S., Kondakov A. I., Shiganov I. N. — Surface wear resistance assurance of high-precision parts in heterogeneous technical structures using laser quenching

Results of research aimed at search for conditions of efficient use for heterogeneous technical structures of the type machining — laser quenching to assure wear resistance of the executive surfaces of high-precision parts are covered. It is shown that wear rate of the surfaces, exposed to laser quenching by continuous wave lasers without flashing, is much lower than that of the surfaces, manufactured by standard technology.
Key words: laser quenching, wear resistance, high-precision parts

Sidlin Z. A. — Manual arc-welding electrodes for the alloy ÝÏ 937 ÂÈ (ÕÍ40ÌÄÁ)
