STRUCTURAL MATERIALS, METAL SCIENCE

Panin P. V., Shiryayev A. A., Dzunovich D. A. — Plotting a temperature–concentration phase diagrams of titanium alloy ВТ6 alloyed by hydrogen in addition

The regularities of phase composition and structure formation in ВT6 (Ti—6Al—4V) α + β-titanium alloy upon additional doping with hydrogen have been studied. A diagram "phase area — hydrogen content — hydrogenation temperature" for the ВT6—hydrogen system has been developed. This diagram shows the alloy phase composition at room temperature after hydrogenation at different higher temperatures.

Akulovich L. M., Romanova T. K., Sergeyev L. Ye., Babich V. Ye., Senchurov Ye. V. — Residual stress formation at magnetic abrasive machining of machine component

It is established that residual compression stresses serve as strength reserve of machine components, and tensile stresses cause its reduction and result in fracture growth of the surface lay. Pattern of residual stress distribution at abrasive treatment is given. The process of residual stress initiation in hardened steels taking into consideration thermal effect at grinding and magnetic abrasive machining is considered.
