Vaytsekhovich S. M., Panov D. V., Krivenko G. G. — Initiation of the combustion reaction in the technologies of selfpropagating high-temperature synthesis at the synthetic blank power compacting

The article is devoted to the technique of combustion synthesis initiation in heterogeneous pressed specimens for subsequent forced SHS compaction of the synthetic blank parts. The process parameters of blank parts ignition, igniter burning time, flow velocity initiating combustion, burning behavior of the initiating chemical components ballshaped mixture in the ignition chamber and the relative chamber volume have been determined.
Relations for the design parameters of igniter x/d, D/d have been theoretically specified. The methods for calculation the igniter response have been developed with due regard for the chamber volume, nozzle shape, combustion rate and combustion temperature of the initiating medium, amount of its outgoing gas and besides the amount of condensate outflow, condensate cooling rate when it is delivered to the blank part and parameters at which the blank part is ignited.

BLANK PRODUCTION

Efimenko N. G., Bartash S. N., Artemova S. V. — Structure and properties of welded joints of large-sized thick-walled structures from 25L steel, accomplished without heating

The effect of welding without preheating and additional technological operations by using a transverse hill method (THM) on the mechanical properties and structure of welded joints from steel 25L is researched. These properties are compared with the properties after welding with heating and high-temperature tempering. It was found that after welding without any additional operations in the HAZ structure is formed of the upper granular bainite resistant against brittle fracture strength and impact-plastic properties which exceed the requirements of the base metal.

Mishchenko K. S. — Ball rolling of the roller bearing tread, as one of the treatment methods by using a surface plastic deformation

Ball rolling of the thrust and thrust-radial bearings tread is considered. The factors that have the greatest influence on the rolling process are considered. The graphs of the main indicators dependencies when rolling bearing rings from the factors that have the greatest influence on the rolling process are presented. In the process of experimental research a number of tests to identify the main indicators were conducted.

Shiganov I. N., Ganzales L. F., Bazaleeva K. O. — Structure and properties of wear-resistant coatings from stellite deposited on steel through the use of laser radiation

The features of microstructure and phase composition of coatings of cobalt alloys Stellite 6 on steel AISI 4340, produced using powder laser cladding. It is shown that the hardness and wear resistance of coatings depends on the dispersion structure, its texture and phase composition. Four investigated the optimal deposition rate and the selected best ratio of the geometrical, mechanical and microstruc-tural properties.

Voronin N. N., Voronin N. N., Budarina О. N. — The main reasons for the fracture of the side frames of freight wagon carriages

In the article an analysis of the changes introduced for the last years to the technical documentation for manufacturing side frames of freight wagon carriages is adduced. The reasons for their subsequent rather rapid damage during operation in comparison with similar products of earlier more issues are indicated too. The main attention was paid to the correction of casting defects on the side frames of freight wagon carriages by welding and deposition on finished products. It is indicated that the thermal deformation cycles of welding and deposition, when correcting casting defects, convert new finished products to repaired ones. The carried out analysis of the subsequent work of the repaired side frames of freight wagon carriages showed that repairs and missed casting defects significantly reduce their performance and lead in the course of operation to the development of cracks and subsequent damage. It is shown that if the formed defect at the next scheduled inspection is not revealed, then when the train moves, a descent, an accident or a crash occurs. To improve the performance of the side frames it is proposed to develop and apply a stamped welded structure.

The applicability criterion of computer radiography systems for the products control in the rocket and space industry is a comparison of the detectability of defects and the sensitivity achieved when monitoring on the X-ray film and memory plates. Test samples are prepared at Khrunichev Space Rocket Plant (RKZ) that were monitored through the use of fine-grained X-ray films and high-resolution memory plates. The article presents examples of the obtained pictures, the results of the studies are adduced and conclusions on the applicability of the computer radiography method for the needs of the rocket and space industry are drawn.

Lebedev V. A., Novikov S. V. — Mathematical model of forming an electrode metal drop during arc mechanized welding

The dependences of the volume growth of a droplet of a liquid metal at the frequency characteristics of the weld pool oscillations at surfacing are determined. The possibilities of realization of surfacing under these conditions, both with short circuits of an arc gap and without them are considered. The corresponding dependences for drops volume and frequency of droplet transfer to the weld pool had been received.

Rosinov А. Ya. — Technical solutions for vibration safety of cold riveting at ship repair implementation

The article presents comparative data of heating and cooling of rivets made from steel and aluminum alloy, as well as data of holes filling with rivets during hot and cold riveting. The features of the cold impact riveting process by direct and reverse method, as well as the possibility of reducing the forces of this riveting through the use of improving the closing heads and the constructive transformation of the rivets themselves are considered. Specific features of the physiological effect of cold impact riveting on the hands, elbows and shoulders of riveters are determined. The design of riveting hammers and supports with spring shock absorbers, which prevent riveters and their assistants from development of the vibration disease, is described. In addition, the design of portable riveting presses for pneumo-leverage and hydraulic action is described, as well as a description of press equipment and the technology of making bolt riveted joints enabling to mechanize the cold riveting process is represented.
