The strength of the welding joints which made of aluminum alloys is often significantly reduced, this is due to post-welding residual stresses and structural transformation. Laser sock peening (LSP) is effectively used as postprocessing, which allows to process extremely narrow sections of the transition zone of welds, increase of microhardness and depth of the residual compressive stress zone. However despite the significant advantages of LSP over the other processing methods, it has some disadvantages. One of this disadvantages is the high cost of typical laser emitters for LSP. Therefore it is advisable to switch from traditional laser sources to low energy sources. The effect of various process parameters on the result of LSP was investigated in this article.

In this paper, the preparation of bimetallic copper-steel structures during the formation of the base and transition layers at various percentages of copper alloy and stainless steelwas discussed. Laser technological complex of coaxial laser melting KLP-400 manufactured at the enterprise BMSTU "Moscow Center for Laser Technology" was used. A metallographic analysis of structureofbuild samples was carried out and a number of features of its formation were revealed in dependence on the quantitative ratio of dissimilar metals in the powder composition.

PRODUCTION SECTION

Kozyrev N. A., Shevchenko R. A., Usoltsev А. А., Osetkovskiy I. V., Kratko S. N. — Thermal cycle control of the welding process of the rail welding machine MSR-6301

The welding modes influence of the full-profile rail junctions with subsequent controlled cooling, produced on the resistance butt welding machine MSP-6301 by passing alternating electric current pulses after welding, on the quality of the welded junctions is studied. For the study, samples of full-profile rails P65 type DT350 600 mm long are used. The control of the isothermal holding modes after welding is carried out with changing the program of the industrial controller SIMATIC S7-300 and the software Simatic-Step 7, which allows you to set the modes of controlled cooling. The control program in the graphic language LAD is written.
Tests of the non-heat-treated junctions for three-point static bending are carried out on a PMS-320 press according to STO RZD 1.08.002—2009. According to the experiments results the dependences of the force arising during bending and the deflection arrows during static three-point bending from the cooling conditions of the welded joint of the rails (contact heating parameters) are obtained. The macrostructure of the samples and the metal hardness distribution on the rolling surface of the welded joint of the rails are studied. A new method of the butt resistance welding, which makes it possible to obtain a welded joint of R65 type DT350 rails with properties that exceed the technical requirements of STO RZD 1.08.002—2009 is developed.

Low-temperature tests of the base metal and weld metal of the welded joints by kinetic indentation with registration of indentation diagrams are carried out. The effect of metal cooling on indentation diagrams and Brinell hardness, determined by the unreduced imprint depth, is studied. Samples from several grades of structural steels are tested for impact strength with a gradual decrease in temperature with the identification of the cold brittleness threshold and determination of the critical brittleness temperature.
The parameter γ, which is equal to the ratio of hardness at a given reduced temperature to hardness at room temperature, for an accelerated assessment of the cold resistance of a metal is proposed. The relation between the parameter γ and the temperature coefficient of hardness, which is included in the exponent of the low-temperature dependence of hardness, is established. For several grades of carbon and alloy steels. The connection between the parameter γ and the critical brittleness temperature T0.4, determined by the criterion value of impact strength KCV = 0.4 MJ/m2, for several grades of carbon and alloy steels was established. The values of T0.4 by the parameter γ in various local zones, including the base metal, the heat-affected zone, and the weld metal for welded joints obtained by electron beam welding and manual arc welding are determined. Plots of distribution of the critical temperature of brittleness T0.4 are constructed and its upper values by which it is possible to establish the permissible reduced operating temperature of welded joints are indicated.

The mechanism of formation of ABS plasticswelded joints by ultrasonic welding is considered. It is shown that when a certain combination of modes for ABS plasticultrasonic welding speed deformation at high pressures may be greater than at small ones, due to the competition of four factors: temperature, static pressure, concentration of energy on the welding surfaces and the separation of the waveguide from the surface of the welded material.
