Donchenko Ye. A. — Calculation of a dot thermal cycle at machine welding and surfacing taking into consideration melting features of the parent metal

It has been proved that it is possible to adjust the well — known N. N. Rikalin equations which are used to calculate the temperatures as well as the basic thermal cycle parameters of spots in machine welding and facing subject to factors related to the fusion of the basic metal.

Volkov S. S. — Ultrasonic butt-seam welding of rigid plastic

Butt-welded joints’ design at rigid plastic ultrasonic welding with auxiliary pressing force is considered. Two methods of ultrasonic vibrationa energy input in immediate proximity to the weld zone using tangential input of vibrations and relative displacement of welded componentry in the interface surface; and welding with double-sided tangential input of vibrations are offered.

Khorev A. I. — Scientific foundations for achieving high and super high structural strength of the welded titanium alloys

Theoretical and practical bases of obtaining welded titanium alloys of high and super high strength by applying promising techniques of improving structural strength, such as multicomponent alloying, modification, strengthening heat treatment, cold deformation, thermomechanical treatment, cladding, thickening in the seam zone while machining are developed. Zirconium and rhenium modifying agents’ effects on the structure and mechanical properties of the welded joints of BT14, BT15 and BT16 alloys are investigated.

Anakhov S. V. — Influence of the intense gas mixture on the efficiency of plasma surface hardening

The opportunity of metal surface modification by moving by nitrogen-containing direct plasma arch is considered. The analysis of design and experimental data testifies to effect of nitrogen "freezing" after implantation in a superficial layer (up to 100 microns) due to reduction of surface desorption speed and diffusion in metal. At the same time, nitrogen has time to be dissolved up to the concentration necessary for formation of nitrides of iron of various phase structure, and to receive metal with the raised wear resistance of a superficial layer. In case of the additive in mix carbon-containing gases it is possible to raise hardness and a limit of endurance of the metal surface.

Large-scale use of information technology resources in the personnel training system coordinated with the plan for expansion of the MATI scientific-and-educational centres allowed for developing a series of on-line laboratory practical training sessions, based on the results of testing efforts carried out in the scientific-and-educational centres on the modern control equipment. Laboratory practical work is founded on the methodological and soft ware integrated by internet-technology. A virtual experimental lab for a wide community of learners, including schoolchildren, students, post-graduates, specialists, is created, which provides research competence formation of the stuff at science intensive manufacturing department.
