Metal flow velocity in the bath at arc deposit welding in the longitudinal field. Razmyshlyayev A. D., Mironova M. V., Deli A. A. P. 4—7.

We regard to the arc facing it is shown by physical simulation that liquid metal flow velocity, induced by the constant longitudinal magnetic field, increases in proportion to current rise (metal flow is directed at the tail end of the bath). Field induction growth at current constant value results in non-linear increase of this flow velocity component. The findings allowed for coming to conclusion that field frequency equal to 2—5 Hz is optimal at flux welding by the welding current of 500—1000 A.

Residual welding voltage at multipass welding of the conduit annular joints. Ponomaryova I. N. P. 7—11.

Residual welding voltage (RWV) level is estimated at multipass welding of the main line annular joints. RWV formation mechanism is analysed, as well as effect of the hoopential and longitudinal voltage on the construction resource. Formulae are obtained which approximate longitudinal and hoopential residual voltage distribution near annular joints of the main lines as-welded and further hydraulic forging.

Effect of the conduit pressed-and-welded joint members’ production technique on the structure and properties of the steel 10Г2ФБЮ. Botvinnikov A. Yu., Neyfeld O. I., Yefimenko L. A. P. 12—14.

Structure and properties of the steel 10Г2ФБЮ are studied at the as-received condition, after pressure forming, flanging, stretch forming and strengthening heat treatment according to the high-temperature stepped temper hardening mode when manufacturing extruded welded conduit T-joints. It is established, that heat treatment modes depend on the structural-and-phase condition of the weld metal and heat-affected area, formed in welding process. Special heat treatment carrying out improves metal strength characteristics of the final products.

Study of the deposit processes of the iron-aluminium system. Sidorov V. P., Kovtunov A. I., Borodin M. N., Chermashentseva T. V. P. 15—18.

Alloys of the iron-aluminium system form a series of intermetallide phases with high solidity, which enables them to become perspective to be used as wear-resistant coating. Effect of the argon-arc deposit welding using aluminium wire on the geometries of the added weld metal, its chemical composition, hardness and wear resistance are studied. Research results are described.

Welder’s e-encyclopaedia. Kazakov S. I. P. 19—22.

Based on the designed "НиКа" (NiKa) database, a welder’s electronic encyclopaedia is created which has six separate bases: welding engineer’s encyclopaedic dictionary, e-encyclopaedia of steels and alloys, "Welding equipment" encyclopaedia, polymer welding and material gluing, inventions in the field of welding and document base of abstracts, articles and patents on welding (1990—2007). Encyclopaedia contains structured hierarchical records on different issues of welding science and welded structures production for the last 17 years presented as articles, abstracts, patents, normative documents and books in the Russian language. All the records in the encyclopaedia have references to the source material. Foreign documents are presented in the form of abstracts, articles and patents, which allows finding source material as needed. The encyclopaedia intended both for the students as tutorial, and for the researchers of the welding processes and managers of the welding works.

New topology and SMPS control systems for arc load: A Review. Part 1. Vereschago Ye. N., Kvasnitsky V. F., Kostyuchenko V. I. P. 22—28.

Componentry principles of new transistor converters for arc load which operate in the modes of high performance and power factor are covered.

Methods of the minor diameter pipe internal surface cleaning by the glow-discharge plasma before coating deposition. Lozovan A. A., Frangoulov S. V., Choolkov D. V., Rodin A. I. P. 28—31.

Research results of the methods of pipe internal surface cleaning by the hollow cathode glow-discharge plasma in the rate of cathode incomplete filling by discharge plasma and by the cylindrical diode circuitry are covered. Experimental results, computer simulation of the cathode heat processes are described. It is shown that both cleaning methods may be of practical application at the deposition techniques.

Conceptual model of the components’ strengthening and reconditioning techniques by gas-and-thermal coating: A Review. Mchedlov S. G. P. 32—36.

Based on the analytical survey of the published papers and experimental investigation, a conceptual model of thecomponents’ strengthening and reconditioning techniques by gas-and-thermal coating (GTC) is developed. Structure of the model has a block of operating complexes, which are implemented in strict interrelated sequence. Conceptual model of the GTC techniques is applied under conditions of industrial production of large work mix, ensuring high technological, economic and ecological efficiency.
