Paton B. E., Maksimov S. Yu., Sidoruk V. S., Sarayev Yu. N. — On the problem of arc self-regulation when consumable electrode welding

The article considers characteristic features, criteria and algorithm of the existing method of arc self-regulation with respect to the mechanized arc welding with conservative feed rate of consumable electrode. The problem is that, if it is necessary to reduce the welding current, for example in case of reducing the thickness of the welded edges or leg fillet weld, we have to use a smaller diameter wire — up to 0,5 mm or even 0,3 mm. This leads to a complication of welding techniques and rise in cost of the wire because of its sausage-type instability to smaller diameters. The problem is to improve the algorithm of arc self-regulation and as a result to reduce the minimum limit value of the current density less than 30 А/mm2 for a steel wire of 5 mm in diameter. At this rate self-regulation of the arc is still possible and this may allow to expand the technological capabilities of the method and reduce the cost of technology. As we see it, such approach makes it possible to create an effective tool in understanding the physical processes that accompany the formation of permanent joints by different methods of arc welding.

Pavlov V. N., Galyatkin S. N., Levedeva N. V., Shur N. A., Rabinovich V. P. — Study of the nature and causes of the crack formation in the welded joints of steel 20K

We present the research results of the causes of cracks in welded joints of steel 20K. In order to establish the nature of fracture we used methods of thermal vacuum etching for metallographic and fractographic studies of fracture cracks. Intergranular fracture pattern set by the mechanism of "cold cracking" formation was established.

Grigoryants A. G., Grezev V. A. — Distinctive features of laser welding with the use of fiber and CO2 lasers

We studied the influence of different gas environment in the process of welding on fiber lasers in comparison with CO2 lasers using the methods of continuous change of the position of the focal spot relative to the surface of the welded sample and set the identity preplasma ability of the metal. The influence of power density laser radiation on behavior and plasma processes occurring in the weld pool when welding on fiber optic laser power of 2,5 and 5 kW. The influence of the intensity of the laser radiation on the formation of the weld.

Lukin V. I., Rylnikov V. S., Afanasyev-Khodykin A. N., Loschinin Yu. V. — The study of low-temperature sintering of silver paste

The article presents studies of thermal effects occurring during drying and sintering of silver-containing paste, which is used to obtain low temperature compounds in "silicon-on-molybdenum" for semiconductor devices. We investigated changes in the shape and size of the silver particles in the silver-containing paste during drying process at different temperatures. Microhardness dependence of the sintered layers on various technological conditions was considered.

Mastikhin E. Yu., Bashurin A. V., Kolmykov V. I. — Diffusion welding of titanium and aluminum structures based on the effect of superplasticity

The authors investigated plastic properties of a number of titanium alloys under heating from 750 to 1050 °C and of aluminum alloys ATs5K5 and AMts. Extreme temperature ranges of increased ductility were identified. Technological modes of diffusion welding of T-joints were selected for the alloys which ensure a joining without visible defects with simultaneous formation of a smooth transition (fillet) on the area edge-web.

Strizhakov E. L., Neskoromny S. V., Ageev S. O. — The technology of magnetic pulse welding-molding of lightweight shielding enclosures of cable termination in the plug connector

The article authors recommended to use a combined technological process of magnetic — pulsed welding — forming (M.P.W.F.) having thermal and force effects for producing lightened screened housing from aluminium foil of 0,15ј0,20 mm thick. The physical nature of the described process and welding regimes parameters were described. Metallographic examinations of the preloaded joint zone were estimated. The equipment (dielectric matrix) application was proved and general view of the equipment for M.P.W.F. was shown. It was given the respective analysis of standart fixing housing to stamp connector joint and new die welded design having improved fire and explosion safety — 100 % electronic anticountermeasures.
