The interconnection researches results between the arc pressure distribution in the welding bath with shielding gas composition and the nature of the cathodic processes are adduced. It is shown that the most favorable pressure diagram in terms of defect-free seam formation provides the use of electrodes that allows to receive the diffusive cathode spot and the helium concentration increase in the shielding gas at welding with electrode, sharpened to a cone.

Shatov A. P., Steklov O. I. — Faulty fusions and hot cracking formation during steel construction welding with corrosion-resistant zinc coating

The conditions of the faulty fusions and hot cracking formation in the seams at steel construction welding with zinc coating are considered. It is established that the probability of faulty fusions formation in the metal seams obtained with mechanized welding in carbonic gas via a consumable electrode increases with the thickness of the zinc coating and caused by additional heat costs of the welding arc for zinc evaporation. To avoid faulty fusions formation in the metal of these seams is recommended to fulfil correction of the welding conditions taking into account the zinc coating thickness.
The probability of hot cracks formation in the metal of welding seams obtained by manual arc welding via electrodes UONI13/55 and by mehanized welding in carbonic gas via an consumable electrode (Sv-08G2C) increases, which is caused by the formation of fusible iron-zinc interlaying along the grain boundaries. To prevent the formation of hot cracks and faulty fusions is recommended to limit the zinc coating thickness on the welded edges within 50—80 μm — for hot zinc plating and up to 200 μm — for metal spraying.

Dragunov V. K., Terentev E. V., Goncharov A. L., Marchenkov A. Yu. — Investigation of the EBW speed influence on the chemical composition, structure and properties of the alloy D16 welding joints

Experimental researches for interrelation between welding speeds in rate of 20—120 meters per hour and mechanical properties of 20-mm thickness welded joints of D16 aluminum alloy plates, obtained by electron-beam welding are made. The impact of welding speed on magnesium distributions in welded joints cross sections is researched. Welded joints microstructure researches using the optical and electron microscopy methods are performed. Hardness tests in different zones of welded joints directly after welding and after the various heat treatments are made. The "chemical composition-microstructure-mechanical properties" relationships for described welded joints are obtained.

Mechanical tests and metallographic investigation of welded joints obtained by using a fiber laser in the scanning mode and a powder based on nickel as the filler material were carried out. The conclusion about this technology application to reasonability instead of labor-intensive preliminary preparation for laser welding is performed, improvement directions of the proposed technology.

Orishich A. M., Malikov A. G., Shelyagin V. D., Khaskin V. Yu., Chayka A. A. — Processes optimization of the laser, microplasma and hybrid laser-microplasma welding of aluminum alloys

The investigation results of the laser, microplasma and hybrid laser-microplasma welding methods of aluminum alloys are adduced. The optimum values of the linear energy at radiation welding with CO2 laser are shown. Limitations of the microplasma welding and the main advantages of hybrid laser-microplasma welding are established. A detailed study of welding joints macro and microstructures of welds and heat affected zone (HAZ) is showed that in all cases take place sufficiently equiaxial compact dendritic structure with no visible defects.
