Shchetinin S. V. — Electromagnetic nature of the molten metal flow in the welding bath

Electromagnetic nature of the molten metal movement in the welding bath is indicated. The molten metal movement speed increases at increasing the welding speed when welding from current supply and sharply increases when welding to current supply due to the reduction of the magnetic field induction behind, the increase of the directed back electromagnetic force and reduce the arc spot size, which confirms the electromagnetic nature of the undercuting formation.
A method for high speed indirect welding by composite electrode is developed. This method provides an increase of the active arc spot size, forward movement of the arc and the bath molten metal, decrease of the electromagnetic forces directed downward in the region of the bath side edges, qualitative formation of seams without undercutings and a reverse roller on the melt backing and increase impact toughness of the welded joints.

Parshin S. G. — MIG-welding research of steel S235JR at the introduction of gas sulfur hexafluoride SF6 in argon

In the article the research results of MIG-welding of the steel S235JR with G4Si1 wire at introduction of gaseous sulfur hexafluoride SF6 in argon at a concentration of 1,6 to 6,4 % are adduced.
The aim of the work was to study the influence of sulfur hexafluoride SF6 on the parameters of a metal drop transfer and the welding joint formation at automatic MIG-welding in an argon environment.
When introducing sulfur hexafluoride SF6 in argon a change in electrode melting process occurses, the efficiency of heat input improves. Drop transfer frequency increases to 1,87...1,95 times, the fusion penetration is increased to 30...70 %, and the seam width is reduced up to 25...35 %. Introduction of sulfur hexafluoride SF6 provide the growth of the average value of the welding current, the decrease of the current arc voltage amplitude declination.

Dobronosov Yu. K., Gavrish P. A. — The research of the metal stress-strain and kinematic state during rolling of the copper to steel welding joint

The work is devoted to the complex research of the stress-strain and kinematic state characteristics of the welding joint metal during rolling copper to steel welding joint. Mathematical modeling of the welding joint geometrical parameters is carried out; characteristic fields into the physical plane and the speeds plane locus plane at welding joints rolling are constructed; the basic laws of the stress-strain state formation mechanism for the metal of the rolled copper to steel welding joint are revealed.

Ilushchcenko A. F., Manoylo E. D., Andreev M. A., Onashchenko F. E. — Gas flame coating from self-fluxing alloys — new opportunities

After analyzing advantages and disadvantages of existing flame coating methods using self-fluxing alloys we have developed a new process of continuous flame coating (CFC) and instruments for its implementation. In accordance with the process, heating of the substrate, application of a coating layer and its melting are carried out by an increased power device. There are no interruptions between operations; therefore we can significantly expand technological capabilities in recondition and hardening of parts for various applications.
