Alrukhaymi А. G., Ivanov М. А., Tingaev А. K., Voronin S. I. — Influence on factors of cold crack formation factors of a steel 10G2FBYu welded joint by regulating linear energy

The article considers the influence of heat input and ambient temperature on the resistance to cold cracks formation in welded joints of high-strength steel 10GFBU. The studies were carried out on Tekken samples with variation of heat welding input from 5.7 to 14.3 kJ/cm and ambient temperature from –20 to +20 °С.To analyze the reaction of the metal to the thermal cycle of welding, metallographic and durometric studies of the welded joints metal were carried out and its cooling rate was calculated in the temperature range of 800—500 °C.
As a result of the research, it was found out that the heat input has a direct impact on the resistance to the cold cracks formation in the welded joints metal and it should be taken into account when assigning the preheating temperature.
In particular, at the value of the effective heat input of 10.3 kJ/cm cold cracks are not formed during the welding without preheating of steel of 18—36 mm thickness at an ambient temperature of 20 °C, and are not formed at not less 14.7 kJ/cm heat input at –20 °C. The critical cooling rate, which provides resistance cold cracking of the weld metal made with electrodes ESAB MTG-01К is 55 °C/sec.
To assess the effect of preheating temperature and heat input on the cooling rate of the HAZ metal in the temperature range of 800—500 °C the corresponding dependences were constructed, from which it follows that the most significant effect of preheating on V8/5 is observed when welding at low heat input characteristic of manual electric arc welding.

Mikhalchenkov А. М., Feskov S. A., Kozarez I. V., Torikov V. E. — The effect of thermal hardening and alternating operational loads of 65G steel on the microhardness of the area deposited by a low-carbon electrode

The distribution of microhardness in the cross section of the depositing region by a low-carbon electrode has a complex configuration, which is resulting from a variety of structural and phase components, the presence of elastic-plastic deformations, and the presence of preliminary thermal hardening of the base metal. The microhardness of the surface of the deposited metal is 410 Hv, which provides increased wear resistance of the friction surface. Operational alternating loading have not influence on the microhardness and structure of the deposited region.

Kozyrev N. A., Kryukov R. E., Mikhno A. R., Usoltsev А. А., Umanskiy А. А. — Development of new welding fluxes based on silicomanganese slag and ladle electric steel-smelting slag

The possibility of manufacturing a welding flux based on slag from the production of silicomanganese and ladle electric steel-smelting slag is evaluated. The production of flux-additives is carried out according to two variants: fractions of the ladle electric steelsmelting slag less than 0.2 mm mixed with liquid glass in a ratio of 62 and 38 %, respectively. Flux-additive is mixed in the ratio of 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 % with the slag of silicomanganese.
It is determined that due to the low concentration of iron oxide and increased basicity, it is possible to use this material at alloyed metal deposition. An analysis of the contamination level with non-metallic inclusions and an increase in the sulfur content in the deposited metal showed that introduction of the flux — additives based on ladle slag of steel-smelting production an amount of not more than 20 % it is possible without deterioration in quality. With an increase in flux — additives more than 20 %, the deposition quality is deteriorated, the number of non-metallic inclusions increases, the sulfur content increases. With an increase of the flux additives introduction over 30 %, the appearance of the deposited layer worsens.

Kalita V. I., Radyuk А. А., Kovalevskaya Zh. G., Sharkaev Yu. P., Komlev D. I., Tolmachev A. I., Ivannikov A. Yu., Zakharov I. N., Bagmutov V. P. — Hardening of plasma coatings from high speed steel during electromechanical and ultrasonic treatment

The coatings from high-speed steel obtained by gas-thermal plasma deposition followed by electromechanical and/or ultrasonic surface treatment are studied. It is shown that the most significant effect of coating hardening is observed with combined electromechanical and ultrasonic treatment. The microhardness of the coating increases by 83 % due to the summation of the hardening effects at all structural levels.
At the macro level, hardening is due to the healing of pores and the formation of new metal bonds between the deposited coating particles; at the micro level, is due to the formation of a substructure and disperse release of the second phases inside the particles.
