Schetinina V. I., Schetinin S. V. — Magnetic field control of welding arc

It is established that electrode form significantly influences on the magnetic field of the welding arc. When welding speed and concentration increase and arc diameter reduces, the magnetic field of the welding arc grows. This corroborates electromagnetic theory of undercutting formation.
We worked out magnetic field control method of welding arc due to using of composite electrode, which ensured arc motion along the electrode end in longitudinal and transversal directions, area extension of the arc motion, deconcentration, reduction of magnetic field induction and of down-directed electromagnetic force and magnetic pressure, seam formation of high quality at one-sided high-speed welding with melt backing, cutting-down power intensity and materials consumption of the process.

To braze boron-nitride ceramics and titanium alloy ВT1-0, braze was obtained in the form of nano-structured rapidly hardened tape. Wetting ability of brazes of the Ti—Zr system of boron-nitride ceramics was estimated. Surface X-ray and topographic analyses of the braze tape, microstructure and mechanical tests of the brazed ВT1-0 - boron-nitride ceramics joints were carried out.

Lyalyakin V. P., Aulov V. F., Ivanaisky V. V., Krivochurov N. T., Ishkov A. V., Koval D. V. — Induction surfacing features of long-measuring soil cultivating elements of farming and road-making machines

It is established that heating rates of charge mixture and of the surface of a long-measuring part mismatch at induction surfacing of hard metal. This causes quality loss of the strengthening coating, violate condition of heat removal and favours increase of the least wear-resistant fraction of hypoeutectic coating area. An inductor for one-sided automatic surfacing of long-measured operating members of farming machines was worked out and manufactured; procedure and conditions of hard-surfacing were selected.

Tsumarev Yu. A., Tsumarev E. N., Ignatova E. V., Latypova E. Yu. — Stress concentration reduction in welded joints by soldering

A technique of stress concentration reduction in welded joints is suggested. This method is based on use of soldered-on surface in the heat-affected zone from the material, which fusing temperature and elastic modulus are less than those of the parent material. It is shown that the most efficient material for soldering-on is zinc, application of which allows not only 27 per cent decrease of the maximum joint stress as compared to the known method providing surfacing of an additional bead by coated electrode, but also it allows improving wear-resistance of the joint, as well as reducing thermal influence on the joint and causing respectively lower power inputs.
