Saraev Yu. N., Semenchuk V. M., Lunev A. G., Nepomnyashchy A. S., Grigorieva A. A. — Integrated assessment of heat and mass transfer of arc surfacing processes with coated electrodes

The article presents the results of an integrated assessment of the heat and mass transfer of arc surfacing processes with T-590 coated electrodes from two manufacturers.
It is experimentally proved that the instability of the arc surfacing process depends on the energy parameters of the mode and on the method of feeding the electrode. It is shown that the pulsed nature of changes in the energy parameters of the welding mode has a favorable effect on the heat content of the weld pool melt. This advantage provides an adjustable heat input into the applied coating, which is accompanied by an increase in its physical and mechanical characteristics. The performed studies confirmed the validity of the need to study the thermokinetic characteristics of heat and mass transfer in the process of arc surfacing with coated electrodes, and also allowed us to assess their impact on the stability of technological processes.

A new source of an electron beam with laser heating of the cathode is presented. The general description, the main parameters and the arrangement of the electron beam source are given. The cathode assembly and its operation features are described, which consist in controlling the emission current from the cathode by changing the cathode temperature by controlling the laser heating power. With this method, due to the heat capacity of the cathode and the parts nearby, the time to reach the set current level of the source from the moment the laser power is applied is several seconds. A method is proposed to reduce this time to fractions of a second by forcing the heating power at the beginning of turning on the heating and introducing preheating, and it is also proposed to stabilize the source current by introducing feedback of the heating power control signal with the current signal of the high-voltage source of the electron gun.
The source current control range is discussed.

This article presents the results of the work on the creation of a flaw detection system focused on the study of high-strength steels. Welded joints of transformer tanks made of type 08G2B steel were chosen as the object of research. The choice for this type of material fell due to the ultra-low carbon content in it, which opens up prospects for the use of eddy current non-destructive testing methods. To carry out direct measurements, a scanning unit was designed and brought to an optimal state, including a converter using the principles of eddy currents and having three circuits assembled on a ferrite core, brand 80NMZ. The installation was tested on samples with model continuity defects (cracks and holes). Also, in the framework of the work, the modeling of corrosion defects in welded joints was carried out.

PRODUCTION SECTION

Podashev D. B. — Study of the part edge quality at machining an industrial robot

The need to replace manual labor with mechanized and automated is an urgent problem of modern engineering. The possibility of using an industrial robot to perform finishing machining of parts (rounding edges) is considered. The dependences of the machined edge quality indicators according to geometric accuracy (location deviation and relative error in roundness) and surface roughness from operating parameters when processing with radial brushes von 3M are studied. The empirical dependences of the edge location deviation and the roughness of the treated surface from the deformation of the brush, cutting speed and feed are obtained. The utilization of polymerabrasive brushes for rounding the edges provides all the requirements related to the quality of the machined edges. The obtained formulas make it possible to determine the machining regimes under which the required quality of the machined edge is ensured.

Morozov V. A., Pashkov I. N. — Influence of the shape and particle size of powder solders on the properties of plasticized powder tapes

An actual problem when using powder solders is their dosage. The quality of the solder joint largely depends on the accuracy of the dosage, the location on the node, the uniformity of the application and other factors. To solve these problems, various technological methods of applying solders, as well as semi-finished products from powders, including powder tapes on an organic binder, are used. In this paper, the main requirements for powder tapes are formulated. The influence of the physical properties of powder materials, such as particle size and shape, bulk and pycnometric densities, on the uniformity of the particle distribution in the tape, as well as the density of the solder tape, is considered. To assess the effect of the shape and size of the particles on the properties of the tape, three powder solders were used in the study: spherical copperphosphorus solder P14, composite nickel solder VPr11-40N in the form of a mechanical mixture of spherical and rounded particles, and plate copper-nickel solder MNMc 9-23.5.
The technology for producing powder tapes with the calculation of the optimal amount of binder depending on the shape of the particles is developed and described, methods for determining such parameters of the tapes as the uniformity of distribution and the density of the powder solder in the volume are developed. Recommendations on the choice of the shape and size of the particles for obtaining the most dense and uniform solder tape are formulated.
