Nemova T. N., Stepanov A. P. — Motion mechanism of the arc cathodic and anodic spots

Basic motion mechanism of an arc cathodic (anodic) spot is considered, effect of arc spots rotary motions in particular, which may be observed at small arc current. The causes of the phenomenon are explained on base of a vortical electrodynamic model of electric arc in which conducting channel in arc plasma column has a structure of a dynamic cylindrical coaxial capacitor. The phenomenon is to be taken into consideration when analysing effects in molten pool, as channel rotation of the arc plasma column accounts for effective rotary material stirring in the welding pool.

Shumilov V. F., Shumilova N. I. — Forming gradual transient processes in the driving gears of electric welding equipment

On the base of universal SH-class functions a new omnibus technique of gradual transient processes formation in the driving gears of electric welding equipment at mating of conditions, i.e. run-up, acceleration, braking, reverse, constancy, halt, is worked out. The method effectiveness is corroborated by the results of mathematical modelling carried out for a direct current motor of indirect excitation in the task of feed control in automatic and semiautomatic arc welding machines.

Novokreschenov V. V., Rodyakina R. V. — Penetration depth test by dimensional analysis technique at electron-beam welding

The nature and methodology of dimensional analysis method, which allows to establish the connection between different physical parameters of analyzed process as a mathematical model up to a constant factor, were considered. The method is used to determine the relationship between the depth of penetration, the thermophysical properties of welded material and process’ parameters of electron beam welding of titanium alloy, tungsten and stainless steel 18-8.

Slobodyan M. S. — Analysis of electrical resistance estimation procedures of the section electrode-electrode and part-part before spot resistance microwelding

A non-traditional approach to analysis the electrical contact system of surfaces is presented. The problems of the interaction of contact elements into account their characteristics are discussed. The equations system obtained is simple in the realization.

Novosadov V. S. — Use of multilayer composite solder for heat exchanger brazing

A new concept of composite solder is formulated: usage of composite soldering alloys of the Cr—Ni—Mn system as coating providing purposeful alloying of the soldered surfaces by chromium and obtainment of seams of optimal thickness less than 80 micrometers. The procedure allows obtaining qualitative joints at the temperature of optimal thermal steel treatment, exclude overbuilding-up of the cooling channels of small cross-section, raise content of chromium in the weld close to its content in steels, producing corrosion-proof joints full-strength to steel 12Х18Н10Т, and 30 per cent reduction of produce mass.

Kornienko M. A. — Automatic weld formation system of curvilinear joint

An automatic control system of weld formation with preset characteristic is described, in which short circuit at drop metal transfer and geometric curvature of the joint line is taken into consideration. Qualitative welded joints are provided by application of the system.

Matveyev V. V. — Cost efficiency of railway wheel contours restoration by surfacing worn-out roll surface

Investigation results of influence of different factors on the effectiveness of wheel contours restoration by surfacing are given, in particular the attention is paid to the on-stream roll surface hardened after annealing. In order to raise effectiveness of wheel profiles repair it is suggested to use multi-electrode surfacing and thermal treatment of welded-up and grinded wheel.
